Welcome to our school
In 2025 Macquarie Fields Public School has 825 students enrolled. There are 32 classes. We are proud that our students represent a range of cultural groups with 78% coming from language backgrounds other than English.
In 2022, the process began to create a school mascot as part of our PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) relaunch.
A competition was held in 2022, with the winner being decided and unveiled in late 2023, after voting from the student population. The winner was Anushka from Year 6, whose idea of "Mac the Cockatoo" was widely loved.
Once the design was created, the process commenced to have Mac constructed for our school, and finally in early Term 2, 2025, he arrived to begin his formal schooling and make lots of friends.
With Mac came some new school rules under the banner:

Be a learner: We will always strive to be the best learners we can be.
Be safe: We will be safe around our school and in our classroom.
Be respectful: We promise to be respectful to all.
He also arrived with some new playground tickets and rewards, selected by the Student Representative Council (SRC).
