Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

Positive Behaviour for Learning
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is an evidence-base framework that brings together the whole-school community to contribute to developing a positive, safe and supportive learning culture. The framework assists schools to improve social, emotional, behavioural and academic outcomes for children and young people.
Meet MAC - our school mascot.
Mac is a team player who loves it when students show how to:
- Be a Learner
- Be Safe
- Be Respectful
in both the playground and the classroom.
Behaviour Expectations
Our signage shows what our rules look like in each of our school areas.
Lessons are delivered on a weekly basis to support our PBL Focus.
Students earn positive behaviour playground tickets for demonstrating our school value of “Being a Team Player.”
At each Monday morning assembly, several tickets are drawn and small awards are presented. All tickets are counted weekly, and the scoreboard is updated, with the top house receiving a reward each term.
From Term 4, 2025, class awards have also been introduced to contribute to the overall house tally.
Awards
Our school has introduced a new award system to better align with our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) initiative. This system recognises and encourages students who demonstrate our school expectations of being a learner, being safe and being respectful.
Award Progression
Students work towards the following awards:
- Mini Mac Award
- Bronze, Silver and Gold Mac Merit
- Mac Medal
Bronze, Silver and Gold Mac Merits are presented at stage assemblies, and students who achieve a Gold Mac Merit in Term 4 will have their parents invited to attend the assembly.
Mini Mac Awards
Each week, teachers will also give out Mini Mac awards to students who demonstrate our PBL expectations. These awards recognise students who consistently show behaviours such as:
- being a learner
- being safe
- being respectful
Mini Macs accumulate over time and lead to higher awards.
