Macquarie Fields Recorder Ensemble
Students from years 3-6 can develop their reading of music, musical concepts and performance ability by joining the school recorder ensemble. Students will have the opportunity to perform at Fields of Fire, Presentation Day, Festival of Instrumental Music and other event throughout the year.
Beginner recorders practise every Thursday during the long break in the AV room. Students follow a structured program that allows them to learn to play the recorder whilst learning to read music.
Once students have a basic knowledge of play and reading they have the opportunity to be nominated to play at the Festival of Instrumental Music at the Sydney Opera House. This is a memorable experience for them to be involved in a professional production in a world class venue. Further information can be found at the Arts Unit.
Our ensemble group this year has their rehearsal day on Tuesday with Mr Musgrave, Miss Gouhar and Mrs Powell and includes;
- Sopranino
- Descant
- Alto-Treble
- Tenor
- Bass Recorders.
These students have learnt the basic fundamentals in learning to play the recorder, some of these students have been learning for a number of years and are well accomplished as a recorder player.
If your child is interesting in having fun learning to play an instrument, then contact Mr Musgrave or Miss Gouhar for further details about joining.
